Business Studies

In the Broad General Education, pupils work through topics such as the Role of Business, Profile of an Entrepreneur, Risks and Ideas, Production and Marketing, Equality in Business, Business Administration, Managing Your Money, Current Affairs – Inflation and Unemployment, Viral Marketing, Globalisation of Trade, International Trade, Impact of Technology and Fair Trade. These topics allow pupils to experience the breadth of the level three outcomes.

Pupils are then encouraged to delve deeper in to the subject, covering level four experiences and outcomes by working on an enterprise project, studying the sectors that make up our economy, considering the key activities of functional areas (Marketing, Operations, Human Resources and Finance) and investigating the impact of both internal and external factors on a business organisation.
