Shell BAME Opportunity

The Shell Black Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Network Discovery Day is a full day event aimed at S4 & S5 school students, primarily of BAME background. It is also open to students from underserved parts of the Aberdeen community.

The Discovery day will be run on Tuesday 17th of September at the Shell Tullos office in Aberdeen.

This opportunity will enable students to:

  • Gain an overview of the Energy industry
  • Gain insights to the oil and gas process as well as the energy transition to cleaner energies through attending a range of interactive presentations and team-building activities.
  • Get an introduction to working life at Shell and possible career options within the Energy industry.
  • Get an opportunity to hear from a wide range of Shell employees about their roles.


  • Pass a completed application to your Pupil Support teacher by Wednesday 4th September at the latest.
  • Successful applicants will be advised on Friday 13th September.

  • Only school students currently studying in the city of Aberdeen will be eligible.
  • Priority will be given to students of BAME background or underserved backgrounds.
  • Students (and parents/carers) are responsible for transportation (to/from) Tullos office. If this poses difficulties, let us know.
  • Lunch will be provided.
