Music – Extra Curricular Activities

Choir is on every Thursday lunchtime in Miss Conn’s room 1.17 and all abilities are welcome. We sing a wide range of songs mainly focusing on pop, dance, musical and rock numbers. We sing for fun and also to prepare for various concerts such as the Christmas and Easter school concerts and concerts out with school, such as the Evening Express concert and Christmas events.

A Cappella
A Cappella group is on every Monday lunchtime in Miss Conn’s room 1.17 and is made up of mainly senior pupils. This is a smaller group made up of around 10 of the best singers in the school, focusing on arrangements and mash ups of popular songs. The A Cappella group also perform in the school concerts and other events.

The Pipers and Drummers meet with Mr Dallas or Miss Conn in room 1.18 on a Tuesday in the lead up to the Christmas and Easter concerts and the Cults Sports Event. Care home Project
The care home project members meet with Miss Conn roughly once a month in room 1.17 to discuss and plan the next visit to the local carehome. We visit Deeside Carehome once or twice every two months and activities range from reading poems, reciting music and various other games and activities with the residents. This project is aimed at anyone who likes old folks, wants to be more involved in the community or even those who like showing off their skills and talents. This activity also looks great on your CV!
